"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

What we crave above all is hope. The kind of hope that assures you that all is well or at least that all will be well in the near future. That there is a reason to wake up in the morning and that there is something to look forward to. That there is an answer to a burning question or a solution to a pressing problem. You could be desperately looking for hope in a dire financial crisis, a serious or long-term illness or even a permanent disability. But it might just be that you are simply looking for that spark of hope that tells you there is a reason for you being exactly where you are at this point in time.

The importance of hope became increasingly apparent as the lockdown days continued to pile up. As I awoke to yet another morning of “work from home”, I felt the urge to share my message of hope or, rather, to share my thoughts on how important it is to keep hope alive in your life. Amid all the gloominess, uncertainty and sometimes downright panic, you need to stand firm on the solid ground of faith. We are not assured a trouble-free life on earth and there may still be days where doubt and fear enter your life, but with a solid foundation, you will rebound!

Romans 5 tells us that faith brings joy. Because of our faith in Jesus Christ, who took our sins upon Himself and died for us on the cross, we stand blameless before God, we are at peace with God and are able to joyfully look forward to sharing God’s glory. The trials of this life seem overwhelming at times, but they allow us to develop patient endurance through which we grow in spiritual maturity, which in turn strengthens our hope of salvation. "And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because He has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love." (Romans 5:5).

This brings me to the importance of spreading the message of hope and being a beacon of hope to others. The shining light you are to others today, could be just the assurance you need yourself when you are sailing on troubled waters in the future. Now, more than ever, we need to be there for each other and act as a constant reminder of God’s love for us.

I was tempted to delay bringing this website live until all the features and my ideas were perfectly implemented, but instead I decided to share my message as quickly as I can. As a start, I will endeavour to add an update at least once a week, including a new photo of God’s beautiful creation. Even though the necessary functions to share your message of hope is not yet in place, I encourage you to send those to me via e-mail. They will be incorporated in future editions. Other correspondence is also welcome. Please feel free to share this message or link to this website.

God has a plan for your life, plans for good. You are not alone. There is hope for the future!
